Had same problem, easy fix. Download Office 2010 Toolkit (2.0 beta). run it and itshould say There is no microsoft office 2010 installed. Then install Office 2010, it will still give you only updates (it did for me). Run Toolkit again, under activation tools tabclieck "activate" then let it do its thing, and bingo. Your activated! To double check it. open up office word ==> file==>help>>> it should sayactivated.
